These past few weeks have been absolute madness on campus with football season well underway and midterms having served their purpose in showing students just how little we really know.

In addition to the craziness manifesting in Chapel Hill, with Carrie‘s photography business keeping her busy, I was thrilled when she called to say she would be in town and wanted to take more photos for Liv Fashionably.

I always enjoy seeing Carrie and doing sessions with her never feels like work.  This particular segment was extremely fun to do, and with the fall temperatures setting in, I couldn’t have asked for a better way to unwind on my first Saturday off in weeks.

I was most excited for this post to debut my new scooter, and since Fall has officially arrived, I decided to break out my favorite corduroys. Colored cords are a go-to in my book, simply because they can be dressed up with heels and a blouse, or dressed down with flats and a vest like I chose to do here.

I found this Patagonia vest a few weeks ago and absolutely fell in love! Fuschia is the color of the season, and this particular piece can go with so many outfits and it happens to pair perfectly with my Tory Burch flats from last season!

There’s no doubt that fuschia is a bright color, but in the midst of midterms and the brisk fall breeze, take a chance to brighten your day, or maybe someone else’s by adding a little fuschia color to your ensembles.

And as always, Liv Fashionably!

Sweet Southern Summer

Dress | Heels | Purse | Sunglasses| Necklace | Watch | Bracelets

In addition to the little black dress from this segment, every southern woman should own a classic white dress.

I chose to dress up this potentially casual sundress with a pair of sequined pumps for a fancier feel.

The cutout sides and open-back on this dress make this look comfortable and fashionable for that romantic dinner date you’ve been holding out for this summer.

Whenever you go shopping, it’s always smart to look for casual pieces.  I’ve always said it’s easier to dress casual up than to dress fancy down!

As the warm season comes to a close, savor every sweet southern summer night there is left.

And as always, Liv Fashionably!

Neutrally Neon

This season is all about natural color palates and neutral lines.  Coco Chanel was one of the first to ever trademark this particular look, naturally.

However, anyone that knows me knows I absolutely LOVE neon! And I thought, what better way to spice up a neutral look than with a little pop of color.

This Yoana Baraschi blouse has just the right amount of neon orange to tie in my favorite Jimmy Choo wedges.  With a neutral leg and neutral accessories, this look has Coco written all over it.  In other words, it is a timeless look that can’t be beat!

Don’t be afraid to base a look off of neutral palates.  And with a pop of color, there’s no way you can be mistaken for a bore!

I hope everyone has a fabulous week, and as always, Liv Fashionably.

Sweet & Sassy Spearmint

Dress | Wedges | Crossbody Purse | Sunglasses | Watch | Gold Bangle | David Yurman Bracelet

One thing I learned quickly this Summer, is to always have a fun and flirty dress on hand! You never know when you’ll be asked to a last minute formal function.  Whether it’s a friend’s wedding, or a date downtown, with this spearmint Parker dress added to your collection, you’re set for any occasion!

Spearmint has been incredibly popular this season, and I love it because it goes great with those beautiful summer bronze’s we’ve all been guilty of working on.  Not to mention, it’s light and flowy for even the hottest outdoor wedding.

This dress is sweet and innocent up front, with just enough open-back to reveal your fun and flirty side.  In other words, when the wind blows your way, no one in the room will be able to withstand your irresistible charm.

Since the dress is simple on its own, I chose to rock a pair of Kate Spade Leopard Print wedges.  As I’ve said before, never be afraid to take a walk on the wild side.  Even the sweetest things in life are better with a little sass!

No matter the occasion, don’t be afraid to sass up your sweet ensembles.

As always, Liv Fashionably!

So I don’t know about you all, but I know I’m a sucker for any chic flick, especially those based off of Nicholas Sparks’ novels. But my absolute favorite of his, is The Notebook.

This particular outfit is a vintage-inspired look that allowed me to channel my inner-Allie.  These wrap-around wedges make me think back to those that Allie wears when she and Noah lay in the street together.

The polka-dot high waisted shorts paired with the eyelet criss-cross top gives this flirty look the perfect touch of innocence, much like that of Allie’s in The Notebook.

In the film Noah tells Allie, “If you’re a bird, I’m a bird.”  Birds are  free spirits that travel whenever and wherever they please.  With this fun and flirty vintage look, your options are endless, so don’t be afraid to channel your inner Allie.

As always, Liv Fashionably!

Opposite Attraction

If there’s one fashion rule that every woman should abide by, it’s that you should always have a little black dress on deck.  It is such a classic look and so versatile, depending on your choice of accessories.

For this segment, I chose to play the opposite card, starting with the contrast of black and white.

Forget the boring pant suits that aren’t always flattering.  With this white blazer, this little black dress is perfect for a day at the office and everyone is sure to know that you mean business!

When the nightlife comes alive, ditch the blazer, and uncover the sassy black dress beneath. You’ll have a brand new look on your hands that is sure to make you the life of the party!

In order to spice things up, add a pop of color to your look, like this embroidered clutch.  With a touch of neon, you’ll be the wildcard that keeps the onlookers guessing.

As the age-old saying goes, opposites attract.  And this sassy business combination is no exception.

Whatever opposites you find yourselves attracted to, as always, Liv Fashionably!

I know it’s been quite some time since Carrie and I have combined powers and passions, but I am so grateful that she and I were able to reunite our talents and once again be the dynamic duo we were before the whole “fashion blog hiatus” commenced.

Since the last post, so much has changed and so many new variables have sprung up in my life. However, one variable I have been able to rely on most through the ups and downs during my first year of college has been my love for fashion and the friends within my closet doors!

During my first year, I’ve learned the importance of setting yourself a part from the crowd, as well as staying steadfast in your beliefs.  Since I was a little girl, I’ve always been told, “Liv, stand for something, or you’ll fall for anything!”

Lucky for me, I’ve learned to stand firm in whatever my choice of shoes is for the day, whether it’s a pair of heels, flats, or in this case boots! It’s always a plus to be fashionable while standing your ground right?

Since the last post, I’ve also learned that boutiques tend to have the greatest treasures!  Some are hit or miss, but the Brinkley Hilton Boutique of Jacksonville is an absolute hit! I ran across this romper and thought it was the perfect combination of small town girl meets uber chic. The pattern found on the shoulders is the perfect contrast of carefree trendiness to the rest of the piece being covered in a whimsical lace.

As for accessories, since most of this outfit is centered around tans and browns, we all know I must default to gold accents! No matter how chic, small town or whimsical your outfit may be, gold is a timeless addition to any look!

Take some time to start adventuring into your own small-town boutiques, and see what treasures you stumble upon!

Wherever you discover your hidden treasures, as always, Liv Fashionably!

Nostalgic Neons

Dress: Alice and Trixie  | Shoes: Jimmy Choo  Purse: Marc Jacobs  | Earrings: Atlantic Beach Surf Shop  | Watch:  Anne Klein |Gold Bangle: Kate Spade

I cannot believe it has been over two months since graduation, and Summer’s end is quickly closing in on us!  Remember when I mentioned that Carrie Coleman and myself would no longer be working together? Well, let’s be honest, we all know that was an extremely outrageous statement, not to mention highly unrealistic! The dynamic duo was reunited, and what a great reunion it was; filled with good food, great chatter, and of course a successful photo shoot!!

Since graduation, I’ve spent my days lounging on a beach in Tahiti, swimming with dolphins and mingling with the island’s natives, learning everything there is to know about my desired success with respect to the journey I am about to embark on…college.

Okay, so maybe I haven’t been visiting foreign lands, or submerging myself in other cultures, but I have been on college information overload! In between visiting with friends, attending numerous orientation seminars that quite frankly would make anyone in attendance gouge their eyes out, one thing has been constant, my nostalgic memories of where I have spent my last three years.  Of course, they all told me (more like warned me) not to wish the days away.  They told me to enjoy the company of those surrounding me, and take advantage of every opportunity placed in front of me. Yet, as everyone tends to do, I wished my days away, and sometimes, regretfully, even the wonderful people that surrounded me.  Now that high school is over, and college is soon to begin, I can only hope to do exactly the opposite: Seize the day! Love the company I am with! And as someone very close to my heart once said, “Never Forget who you are and what you believe in.”

In the midst of new adventures, and times filled with Nostalgic memories, wherever you find yourself, as always, Liv Fashionably

Pretty in Pink

Dress: Alice and Trixie | Sunglasses & Handbag: Chanel | Shoes: Stuart Weitzman (Last Season) | Belt: Mom’s closet | Earrings: Belk

Similar to yesterday’s post, I’ve chosen to wear a dress by the same designer, Alice & Trixie, just a different style in a different color scheme.  When you find a designer you enjoy as I have, don’t be afraid to get multiple pieces from the same collection!  When they’re different colors, and spiced up with different accessories, no one will know the difference!  When you feel good, you look good!

So go with what fits your style and personality, and in doing so, Liv Fashionably!

Slightly Blue

Dress: Alice and Trixie  | Sunglasses: Prada | Shoes: Jessica Simpson   | Purse: Chanel   | Earrings: Belk  | Tribal Bead Bracelet:  David Yurman   |Turquoise Ring: H&M

This past weekend, myself and my fellow photographer, Carrie Coleman, officially became high school graduates! As exciting as this was, I think I speak for myself and all of my fellow sisters of the Saint Mary’s School Class of 2012 that we were all feeling a little blue when having to say goodbye to those we’ve spent the last four years alongside of, especially Carrie and me.  Since we’ll be attending different colleges next year, the future posts that she’ll be photographing for me will be few and far between, but as always, the show must go on!

During this graduation season, and in the midst of bittersweet goodbyes, as always, Liv Fashionably!
